NanoClean

Bacteria and Viruses are spread from person to person everyday. Some of these have no affect but others are potentially deadly. The contamination can be airborne, but is predominantly via contact with surfaces that have been contaminated by the carrier. In our day to day lives we pass through buildings and in the process have contact interactions with Door Handles, Push Plates, Bannisters and Railings, all of which have been touched by other previous users.

Following extensive research and studies with Kings College London we are able to offer a Photocatalytic Anti-Bacterial coating for application to all of these potential cross contamination surfaces as well as others such as Glass and Walls.

Environan’s NanoClean is unique to other coatings as it does not contain chemical antibacterial agents. Instead NanoClean utilises photocatalytic properties, which means it reacts with Ultra Violet (UV) light

This reaction causes excitation of the particles and the water vapor present within air is then broken down into Hydroxyl Radicals. This results in the break down of organic materials into the base forms such as Oxygen, Nitrogen and Carbons.

Results in testing conducted at Kings College London and within laboratories in Canada have shown that this is effective up to 600 mm from the coated surface.

NanoClean particles are 8 millionths of a millimetre, this enables an extremely thin coating (0.001 of a mm) protective finish. This means that the NanoClean coating is completely transparent and can be applied to any surface without detracting from its texture or original beauty.

Protection:

  • NanoClean will provide 5 years of antibacterial protection as a minimum in high footfall areas with 10 years in other areas.
  • Time does not affect the ability to kill bacteria and viruses providing a coating remains on the coated  surface and is not covered by other products such as Paints or Varnishes.
  • The NanoClean finish will also provide protection from tarnishing much like Lacquers but unlike these Lacquers will last much longer.

Cleaning:

  • Cleaning is simple, clean warm water is all that is needed, no detergents or environmentally unfriendly products are required. NanoClean’s self cleaning action means all residue and dirt can be simply wiped away.
